Job Purpose:
The New Business Development Sales Representative is a go-getter who thrives on hunting down new opportunities and turning them into loyal clients. This role focuses on identifying, qualifying, and converting prospects into revenue, helping the business scale and expand into new markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prospecting & Lead Generation

Research and identify potential clients in target industries/markets.

Cold call, email, network, and attend events to generate quality leads.

Maintain an active pipeline of prospects through consistent outreach.
2. Client Acquisition

Deliver compelling sales pitches and proposals tailored to client needs.

Conduct presentations and product/service demos (virtual or in-person).

Close deals and negotiate contracts in alignment with company goals.
3. Relationship Building

Develop strong, long-term relationships with new clients.

Act as the primary contact during onboarding and early account stages.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless handover to operations.
4. Strategic Market Growth

Identify gaps, trends, and growth opportunities in the market.

Suggest improvements to service offerings or pricing to increase competitiveness.

Provide insights and feedback from the field to inform sales and marketing strategy.
5. Reporting & CRM Management

Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system.

Track key metrics such as pipeline status, conversion rates, and sales targets.

Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports for management.

Minimum Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12) – a Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or similar is advantageous

5+ years of successful sales or business development experience

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Familiarity with CRM software and digital sales tools

Must be self-motivated, proactive, and highly driven
