Job Purpose:
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Admitted Attorney to join our legal team. The successful candidate will provide support in a variety of legal matters including litigation, commercial contracts, legal compliance, and advisory work. This role is perfect for a recently admitted attorney looking to gain broad exposure and practical experience in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Drafting & Research

Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, opinions, and correspondence.

Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums on various areas of law.

Review and interpret legislation, case law, and legal precedents.
2. Litigation Support

Assist with litigation processes including court filings, drafting notices, and liaising with counsel.

Attend court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations as required.

Manage litigation files and maintain proper record-keeping.
3. Client Interaction

Consult with clients under supervision and prepare case strategies.

Attend meetings, take instructions, and provide updates to clients.

Assist with negotiation and settlement discussions.
4. Compliance & Advisory

Support the business with legal and regulatory compliance.

Review internal policies and assist with risk management strategies.

Provide legal opinions under supervision of senior attorneys.
5. General Administration

Maintain case files and ensure deadlines are met.

Monitor court dates, compliance calendars, and filing timelines.

Work closely with legal assistants, clerks, and support staff.

Minimum Requirements:

LLB Degree from a recognized university
-
Successfully completed Articles of Clerkship

Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa

Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

Strong knowledge of South African legal systems and court procedures

Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms
