Position Overview

A dynamic Johannesburg law firm is recruiting a Junior Admitted Attorney to support litigation and legal functions. Ideal for a newly admitted attorney eager to dive into courtroom advocacy, drafting, research, and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions, pleadings, affidavits, contracts, and correspondence. 

  • Attend court proceedings (Magistrate’s or High Court), mediations, arbitrations, and client consultations. 

  • Prepare case files, summonses, court applications, and manage case strategies under supervision. 

  • Liaise with clients, brief counsel, and maintain professional communication and documentation. 

  • Organize and manage case files, file records, and administrative logistics like Court Online and Case Lines.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • LLB degree from a recognized institution.

  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, in good standing with the LPC. 

  • Post-admission experience ranging from newly admitted up to -2 years 

Desirable Skills & Traits

  • Outstanding legal research and analytical abilities. 

  • Crisp drafting skills — motions, pleadings, affidavits, reports. 

  • Familiarity with litigation tools like CaseLines, Court Online, and legal research platforms. 

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and manage case volumes. 

  • Excellent communication and client service abilities, elegant professionalism. 

  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transport—courts and client visits happen.

Typical Compensation

  • Salary range: R26,000 per month for entry-level ( 2 years) attorneys.
